I honestly do not understand how anyone can prefer this game over the Tony Hawk's series (only counting the Neversoft titles of course).

What's the point of playing a skateboarding game if you can only keep a grind going for a few seconds, and only jump a few feet off the ground. If it's going to be that realistic, you may as well get out there and skate for real.

I suppose I can see the appeal. And I have started to get good at the game. But each time I play it, I just think to myself "why aren't I playing one of the much better and older Tony Hawk games?"

I still can't make heads or tails of the scoring system as well. You can do a nice long combo, with lots of different tricks, and get only a thousand points. But on the other hand you can just barely touch a rail and suddenly get 600 points or more.

I also really dislike how easy it is to ragdoll. As this comic shows, you can just briefly brush your arm against a wall, and then instantly ragdoll as though your skater suddenly gave up on life. It's funny, but ultimately a bit annoying.

I don't like how they instantly teleport back onto their skateboard too. I'd much prefer it if they got back up and used the force to make their skateboard come to them. You know, like all of the Tony Hawk games. Yeah, little things like that do make a difference.

I like the markers you can place though, so you can instantly retry a trick you're trying to do. Those are nice. And I also really like the map layout. I just wish I could play that map on one of the Tony Hawk engines.
