People can get really quite defensive when it comes down to phones. There's plenty of arguments between those who prefer iPhones and those who prefer Android Phones, but there are also plenty of arguments between those with smartphones and those with old fashioned phones. Each side usually has a smug superiority complex as well.

Personally though, I think a phone is just a phone. I have one of the old fashioned types. There's two reasons why I have such a crappy phone. Firstly, I can't afford a better one. Secondly, I don't use things like twitter and facebook, I only check my email once a day, I barely go out, and I rarely ever need to call anyone. Most of the time my phone is off!

What I'm trying to say, is that you just need the right phone for you. It doesn't matter what phone you have or what phone everyone else has, all that matters is if you have the phone that suits your lifestyle.

I have a smartphone but it doesn't do the 'phone' bit because I have no carrier for it. I just use it to connect to twitter and email and things over wifi, play games, and use the camera. There's also some neat "spy on other people" apps on it that I never really use

Having a phone that does everything other than phone people, reminds me of a joke on Spy Kids 2, when they get a watch that can do everything but tell the time.

Wait a few more years, smart watches will probably lose the ability to tell time!

And when that day comes, I'll have to make a new comic strip referencing that joke on Spy Kids 2.
