Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the games which keep on disappointing. Gold and Silver though, are the games which keep on impressing. I suppose I'll just sit here waiting for the remake of the remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver.
Also, this is pretty much the logic the developers have for removing the much beloved trainer customization.
I mean, I've been waiting years for them to add trainer customization, and when they finally did, they removed it in the very next game. And their excuse is that the Japanese see the French as a bunch of fashionable people that like to change their clothes, and so the feature wouldn't make any sense in a game that's set in Japan. Honestly, how crazy do you have to be to think like that!
There's also the excuse that they like to make each Pokemon game have a special feature, to keep that game unique. But if that was true, they would've kept Mega Evolutions only on X and Y.
Sigh, I wish they would make a Pokemon game with all of the awesome features that have ever appeared in a Pokemon game. Or better yet, make a Pokemon game where you can actually travel to every region (where in turn you can access every feature)!
I know they will never do that, because if they did, they can kiss their best money maker goodbye, since there would be no reason to ever buy a Pokemon game ever again. But I can still dream.
Hmm... actually, maybe they might do that. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will start doing DLC on their handhelds (if they aren't already it that is, but I've never heard of such a thing, so I suppose they aren't).
I kinda shudder at the thought of such a day, but hey! At least you get the possibility to buy other regions for your Pokemon game!
