Yeah... the guards on that game are pretty dumb. If they hear a sound, it's rats. If they notice something's missing, it's rats. If they find a dead body, it's rats.
Funnily enough though, what rats you do find on the game, don't really do much of anything. Poor things, always being blamed for the stuff you do.
And yes, they are that bad at searching. I think a guard literally walked into me, and just ignored me because I was in a very dark shadow. That's how dumb they are!
