Is there an ingame reason for this?
I wouldn't know since I've only ever played the first four Mortal Kombat games, and those games barely had any plot whatsoever (at least none that was clearly visible from playing).
Because after making this comic, I'm kind of curious how all of these fighters keep coming back each and every tournament, when the losing opponent is supposed to die at the end of a match.
