Let's face it, this entire scene could have been justified by simply stating that she thought there could have been a spy on board.
But they didn't do that. Which leads me to believe that she simply didn't want to kill herself. And that if Leia hadn't woken up and forced her hand, pink hair girl wouldn't have sacrificed herself.
