I still remember as a little kid playing the first Sonic game needing to ask my brother for help on the water level as that was the hardest one. I could do all the other levels except that one.

Yeah, the water levels were quite difficult in Sonic 1.
Personally, I struggled I never got past Spring Yard Zone as a kid.
