Personally I can't stand the default textures on Minecraft. Give me a texture pack that's at least twice the resolution. 16x16 is just too small!
But clearly I'm in the minority here.
I wonder if Microsoft will one day pull a World of Warcraft, and release an official optional graphics update. The blocky-look isn't going anywhere, that much is obvious. Besides, the models look fine. But I can definitely see them giving a more high quality version of the textures. Something along the lines of the Faithful texture pack I think.
BDCraft Texture packs all the way. Even when I'm not playing with any other mods, BDCraft is where it's at. Add in a bit of Optifine with some Cel Shading... and ooooh weee...
Ooh wow, that is a very nice texture pack.
Personally I use my own custom made 32x32 texture pack, where I've taken bits and pieces that I like from other texture packs. I've always kinda used Mixcraft as a base though.
But that BDCraft, ooh that looks good. With Cel Shading, I bet it looks incredible!
In other unpopular positions to take on Minecraft - I think it's gone down hill since (roughly) when the lesser End islands and Cities came out. The latest stuff feels like something you'd put in a Minecraft Mod instead of having as default content.
