I tried to get into MMOs recently. I also gave up trying to get into MMOs recently.
The majority of the MMOs out there have some really awful and boring looking aesthetics. But pushing that to one side, the interfaces. My goodness, the interfaces are so bloody terrible! Doug sums it up best in the comic I think.
After trying about half a dozen MMOs, half of which I struggled to get working due to their account systems being total garbage, I've come to a realization.
Firstly, World of Warcraft looks beautiful.
Secondly, World of Warcraft is a brilliant example of an average MMO, which is that they all look like they were made two decades ago, and come with grindey gameplay, ridiculously overly long tutorials, and the worst interfaces I've seen since Dwarf Fortress.
What I'm trying to say is, please point me to a good MMO, one that works. Preferably one that didn't look at Neverwinter Nights from 2002 and say "I'm going to recreate that, but online only."
