Of course this is just an exaggeration for the sake of comedy. But Minecraft does take a lot longer to load now. It requires a much stronger computer too. Although that's all to be expected considering it's constantly being updated.
I'm in the minority, but I prefer older versions of Minecraft. I think round about when the smaller islands arrived in The End was when it peaked and since then they just keep adding fancy fiddly bits that I don't really care much about.
I guess I'm also in that minority with you.
Although I do like Netherite. I feel like that extra ore in the Nether, finally gave the Nether a purpose. And since it's always been really easy to get diamond, having an extra level of equipment which is somewhat difficult to get, was definitely a plus.
Everything else though... meh.
