For those who don't get it, in Zork, which is a very old and very popular text adventure game, if you ever end up in a dark room you can get eaten by a grue. As soon as you get a light on though, there's never a grue to be seen. They're a mysterious creature that lurks in every dark corner, and that cannot be described because no one has ever been able to see them in the light. In other words, they're a perfectly acceptable reason to always be afraid of the dark in the Zork universe. So imagine if you turned the lights off on your child, or if the power went out. Kind of horrifying if you think about it.

And in real life, we have parents who forget their kids in the backseat of their car on a hot summer day, so forgetting to leave your lights on in the Zork universe, does sound believable.

The fact that lightswitches are sold with an 'off' setting is clearly gross negligence and calls for a class action suit against the manufacturers.
