Someone on DA recommended I make a comic covering it, so I figured I'd do it. And this was the result... personally, I'm not too satisfied with it. This is why I don't usually cover current events, even though this is covering an event that let's face it, happened quite a while ago now.

Still, you gotta laugh at how quickly everyone just jumped aboard the NFT-wagon, and that trying to explain to them how it was a glorified pyramid scheme, just made them think that you didn't understand it, while in actual fact you understood it better than them.
What made it even more laughable was how everyone only seemed to be concerned about things such as it's environmental impact, their art being stolen, and the impacts on the customer.
Talk about not being able to see the forest for the trees.
And then it all disappeared as quickly as it started, which let's face it, was the punchline to the whole sorry affair. Although there are clearly still a few stragglers that haven't gotten the memo yet.

And you know what? There actually was a practical use for NFTs as a concept as well. One that seems to have been completely overlooked in favour of a glorified pyramid scheme.
...
You could use them to actually OWN the digital goods you purchase in a video game such as an MMO. Something which actually facilitates trading and selling on, and actually allows you to continue to own it after the game has long since disappeared. Then again, that would probably benefit customers and not companies, so no wonder that was never brought up in a sensible manner.

Ah well, at least it got some great IPs into what I hope are some better hands.
And I'm sure there's someone out there that's enjoying their string of characters that they believe represents a piece of artwork but not really.
