Moving on, I actually rather dislike Facebook. Normally I wouldn't give a crap about something like Facebook, but Facebook has become such the norm in society that it's becoming more mandatory to have an account than optional. And it's that, that causes me to dislike (nearly hate) Facebook. But don't let it be said that I don't have a social account, after all, I do use my deviantArt account as a form of Facebook, albeit, a version which utilizes more creativity.
My characters on the other hand are unfortunately like everyone else, in that they adore Facebook.
I understand why some people like Facebook, because you're able to contact friends and family who live far away, and who you can't easily contact. But most people instead use Facebook to play some warped game of getting their friend counter as high as possible, or to tell people who live down the street every single detail of their lives. Usually both.
So yeah, I'm not a big fan of Facebook. But if you use Facebook for the right reasons (in other words, a bit like a Phonebook) then I completely understand and agree. But if you don't, then I'm sorry, you just baffle me (unless you have an attention deficit disorder, in which case I do understand).
I am very sorry for the rant, and if you were offended in some way, let me remind you, I don't dislike people who use Facebook, I dislike how using Facebook is practically required to be considered normal. Which I guess I'm not, since I don't use Facebook.
Seriously, employers want their workers to have a Facebook account before they hire them, and there’re loads of news articles that state you’re anti-social if you don’t have a Facebook account. Those are the reasons I dislike Facebook and damn well near hate it. Need I say more?
